Item description: * See scan - very good condition. Not with original ribbon of issue, but a close match. This is a scarce and rare Bulgarian Royal, as well as German Saxe Coburg Gotha order / cross for the ascension / accession (or election) of Prince / King Ferdinand I to the Bulgarian throne about 12 years after his arrival from Germany. This order was the first one instituted by the new monarch after the abdication of Price Alexander Batenberg and was presented only to highest ranking officials at the special ceremony at the Royal Palace after the King arrived from Germany. The 3rd Class is silver plated and with a center text reading in Bulgarian WITH GODS TRUTH AND PEOPLE'S WILL and the back has the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha Coat of Arms / Crest with a circular text in Cyrillic - '2nd August 1887' being the date of the official ascension of the new Royalty. The order was made in Austria by ROTHE, Wien. Scarce military / militaria collector piece and one of the rare Bulgarian and respectively German orders.
